FOUR BRAVE WOMEN
CHANGE THE WORLD ONE MEAL AT A TIME
Four Brave Women is an initiative of The Trading Circle that works to empower refugees to be able to operate and grow their own small business in an inclusive and well-supported environment. The aim is to give refugees a live experience of working in a commercial kitchen, serving customers and managing the day-to-day running of a small business in Australia. After a cycle of eight weeks, the goal is for them to gain enough capital and knowledge to branch out and establish a business of their own.
The menu will change every eight weeks as a new group of chefs serves a range of delicious meals inspired by their own cultural heritage.
We now welcome Yulia and Iana into the kitchen as they cook up an array of Georgian and Eastern European food! Yulia and Iana run a catering business, The Magic Tablecloth, and are excited to be able to share their hearty stews, yummy sweets and other dishes with the Four Brave Women community. Stay tuned for menu updates as they are passionate about introducing new options to their menu and sharing new flavours with their customers.
Yulia and Iana are serving lunch Mondays to Saturdays and dinner Fridays and Saturdays.
Mehrdad is serving an Iranian inspired hot breakfast, coffee, hot drinks and snacks Mondays to Fridays.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q) Can I make a reservation?
A) Four Brave Women does not take reservations as we are a casual eatery. We have a flexible dining space and outdoor courtyard which means we are happy to try to accommodate your group by moving tables and stools around.
Q) Do you offer BYO?
A) BYO is unavailable at this stage however we are working on this!
Q) How does it work?
A) Breakfast is served buffet style where you walk through once and help yourself to the dishes on offer. There is one size bowl which is $6. There are also breakfast snacks available.
Lunch and dinner is served buffet style where you can walk through once and help yourself to each of the dishes on offer. You can choose from three sizes of meals: Small $11, Medium $14 or Large $17 which are all available as take-away or dine-in.
Q) Do you offer vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/halal/dairy free options?
A) We do our best to cater for most dietary requirements whilst trying to remain true to the original recipes that the chefs have brought from their home countries.
The Georgian menu is also mostly vegan and all gluten free. Snacks and sweets vary though you can see the menu for specific dietary requirements.
Q) Why is everything served in disposable packaging and why buffet style?
A) One of our goals with Four Brave Women is to create the space and time for the chefs to easily engage with customers and to build community through the sharing of cuisine, culture and conversation.
We have an open kitchen where food is served straight from the oven to the buffet which means that you can see the effort and ingredients that go into making each meal and you can ask the chefs questions about the entire process as they are cooking.
Serving everything in disposable packaging means that the chefs are not stuck in the kitchen plating up meals or washing dishes. Instead they are able to spend lunch and dinner chatting to customers as they work and gaining the extra skills that will help them run a business in Australia including improving their English, customer service, cash handling and more.
Despite using disposable packaging we are conscious of the environment. All of our packaging - from cutlery to coffee lids to plates to garbage bags - are made from plants and recycled materials, are low carbon and 100% compostable. We send all of our used packaging away with a waste company that takes it to a giant composting facility where it gets turned into green energy and mulch.
Q) Do you do catering or can we hire Four Brave Women as a venue for a function or party?
A) We do catering for external events and our caterers can provide a range of cuisines including Iranian, Ethiopian, Tamil, Iraqi and Georgian.
We also do internal catering and can provide the space for private functions for groups of 25 people or more on Monday to Thursday nights or Sunday days and nights.
