Ethical Charter of The Trading Circle
Friday, 23 April 2010
The Trading Circle subscribes to the definition of “fair trade” by the World Fair Trade Organization: “Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers – especially in the South. Fair Trade Organizations, backed by consumers, are engaged actively in supporting producers, awareness raising and in campaigning for changes in the rules and practice of conventional international trade.”
Children in Families Affected by HIV/AIDS Reflect on Their Families
Monday, 10 May 2010
Sister Pranee, along with the outreach staff of the Friendship Centre, which includes the Hands of Hope Project, ran a fabulous seminar with the children from the Friendship Centre last week. The theme was ‘family’ and 72 children aged 8 – 17 took part as part of their holiday program. During the seminar, the children, some with no parents alive, some with one parent and a few with both parents were given the opportunity to reflect on their family situation and express their feelings toward their parents and those who had cared for them.
